Before attending the Modern College of Design, painting and illustration was my passion, and until this project, I kept my experience with traditional art and design disconnected.
The goal of this project was to use both of my passions (art + design) to create a playful, yet sophisticated spring retail campaign for Ann Taylor. I was originally inspired by watercolor paintings and hand lettering, but the style morphed into a more loose painting technique with contrasting clean, crisp type.
I wanted to use bright colors to attract the eye of the consumer, while short headlines (Grow, Thrive, Bloom, and Live) encourage them to flourish in Ann Taylor’s new spring line of clothing and accessories. This campaign would appeal to younger and older generations alike due to its attractive and pleasant appearance.
